In the 90’s of the previous century, a dentist invented a technology based on active oxygen to whiten avital teeth from inside out. Because of his curiosity about this technology, he discovered that it also had a broad and huge potential for more dental and dermal applications. This led to the founding of Ardoz in 2002, to investigate in more research of the active oxygen technology (Ardox-X® technology) and the development of commercial products.
The registration of the first medical device, “Vitint A avital tooth whitening system”, was completed and released into the market. In the years that followed, more cosmetic oral care products were developed, such as toothpastes, mouthwash and “at home” whitening gel. These products became a very welcome range within the commercial oral care field. An important benefit of these products was the discovery of the positive and specific antimicrobial property of the technology.
The discovery that our active oxygen technology formed an excellent treatment for eczema and psoriasis. A new range of dermal care Medical Devices (cream, lotion, shampoo, spray) was ready to market in 2006.
A tooth whitening chewing gum was developed and marketed in collaboration with Perfetti.
Discovery of the preventive action of the active oxygen technology in relation to the formation of biofilm around teeth, in collaboration with ACTA.
Introduction of an implant gel and liquid to the market. New medical devices Class IIa for the treatment of periodontitis and peri-implantitis, developed to counter the use of harmful chlorhexidine in existing products.
Development of a specific mouthwash (also free of chlorhexidine) for the treatment of halitosis and oral malodour.
